Two women in mid-life and who worked together at a previous workplace, during that time we discovered that we had a great common interest in natural materials, crafts and needlework. Lotta sews in leather and together with her family has a farm with Gotland sheep and has run her own farm shop. Christina has been knitting and creating since childhood and has sold self-made knitted and crocheted products in, among other things, Lotta's shop. From this came the desire and the idea of doing something together and the ambition from the start was to utilize as much as possible of what the sheep on Lotta's farm give.

The farm Lotta lives on is called Avelsås and from there we have chosen the name Avelsås Ull & Inredning. Our business is based on self-made products in natural materials in a wonderful combination with purchased products that we ourselves like and think have the right feeling. For genuine feeling and authenticity is something that is very important to us, we love natural materials and especially the fantastic properties of wool that we hope MORE will discover and choose. We want to be involved in helping to utilize Swedish wool, which is a renewable raw material with fantastic properties but which today is thrown away in large quantities. All wool from our own farm is utilized and becomes yarn or other products and since 2019 we have been buying wool from local sheep farms to process it into wonderful Swedish wool yarn.

We cooperate with several different spinning mills and sheep farms and produce Swedish wool yarns from several different sheep breeds and wool varieties, we now have one of Sweden's widest range of Swedish wool yarn, in our range we have jämtland yarn, Gotland yarn, fine wool yarn and yarn from several of our Swedish allmog breeds (värmlands- klövsjö-, svärdsjö- and helsinge-sheep) in addition to sheep, we also offer Swedish goat mohair and alpaca yarn. In addition, we have a small-scale produced sock yarn in 100% wool from the farm's own Gotland sheep mixed with Swedish goat mohair.

Our goal is that you as a customer should always have the opportunity to choose from different varieties of Swedish wool yarn where we can tell you about the whole process from which farm the wool comes from, how we take care of the wool, the spinning process, dyeing to what you as a customer can knit from it and if you want, we will also help you while you knit when you choose our patterns and yarns.

We sell our products at selected trade fairs, in our studio and on special occasions with a pop-up shop and in our webshop that is open around the clock for you. We hold courses in knitting and organize creative events because we want more people to feel the satisfaction of creating something of their own and preserving an old craft and learning more about wool and its amazing properties.

By shopping with us, you are contributing to open landscapes, biodiversity and to utilize Swedish wool, which is a renewable raw material with fantastic properties such as self-cleaning, fire-resistant, recyclable, durable and warming and you have bought a product that is a good environmental choice and with a long life, of course it feels good!

Welcome here to get to know us and our products.

wool hugs,

Christina & Lotta
